ishan's weekly updates: edition 1

what’s up y’all.

i was inspired by one of buildspace’s sf2 lectures to start a newsletter, thought this would be a cool way to keep me accountable and track my progress over the years.

i’'ll keep it pretty short and sweet, just a couple of updates/things i’ve learned this week.

went on a cool retreat

crazy experience.

  • tried cold plunging for the first time.

  • stayed up until 5am talking about life, business, our ambitions.

  • spent hours hiking around the property.

  • learned about virality, unofficial apprenticeships, customer interviews, meditation, spirituality, history, religion, safe financing, and so much more.

  • discovered an abandoned train with tons of mail from the 1980s.

  • roasted marshmallows over a campfire.

and ultimately left with a sense of direction, inspiration, and gratitude i’ve never felt before. huge shoutout to aidan and luke for organizing.

finally made a website for buildillinois + some other news

2 weeks ago, we had a dinner with cory levy. it was a ton of fun, and super inspiring seeing the builder community on campus coming together once again.

i remember when aryan and i first started the club last semester, i made a list of crazy goals for the hackathon. get 100 participants. get 100k+ in sponsorships. and get marc/cory to notice us.

btw, we had nothing at the time. no money, no signups, not even an instagram account.

it’s really cool to see how far we’ve come in just a few months. it feels like we haven’t even scratched the surface of what’s possible yet, but it feels good knowing that we’re headed in the right direction.

oh yeah, i also finally made a website for buildillinois. it was about time.

got some film pictures back

follow @ishansnapshots for more :)

that’s all, have a great spring break!
